Automatic Signaling Jacket for Non-Cabined Vehicles

This project presents a waterproof wearable signaling system engineered for cyclists and e-scooter riders. The jacket integrates a gyroscopic sensor and real-time embedded software to automatically detect body lean and activate turn signals without user interaction. Built in C++ with onboard sensor fusion and motion analysis, it enables intuitive signaling aligned with natural rider movement. The system was prototyped across four iterations, achieving successful demonstration and recognition as a finalist in Teknofest and TÜBİTAK national competitions. Industrial production viability was confirmed by the Turkish Patent Institute (2022/016379 · Issued Oct 29, 2022).
